The first two links are 404 (Not found)
I actually did try to print the universal translator from Thingiverse, but the models were not the greatest for printing.
And the MACO scanner looks cool, but $50.00 is a little steep..

As a quick update, I have purchased models from the guy that makes the MACO hand scanner.. His sizing is always wrong, pieces don't fit together very good. His models are not split up for printing nicely, etc.. I won't buy from him anymore. (Side note, he changed his name online for selling models after a ton of bad reviews..)

Joe, About those first 2 links,... 1) Cults3D is a weird acting site. Their pages are virtually dead at loading up, even the homepage as I just tried. It takes several tries through the link or... just go there and type into search "star trek enterprise hand scanner". 2) Thingiverse operates the same bad way, ...try direct search. I did just now, its there. Of the 3 links from Thingiverse, upon the UT.. the first is by "Woodenparrot". 2nd by "SchismDIY" and 3rd by "Ilya_Tsaryuk". That last guy I don't trust. "It's hard to find an honest, diligent working, detail oriented 3D print model artist these days. My hopes have been dashed into the winds!" I gotta ask,... Who does the blue computer modeling animations I see for exhibiting model parts upon the Thingiverse pages? The artisan or site support?? I went to look upon Tsaryuk's models pages ....he doesn't seem to have anything! Displays a lot of 3D printer machine parts, though. And his ST:E communicator link is 404. I'm not impressed. And you doubt the first 2 guys? ? Lastly the artisan "Dufe" who makes the MACO scanner ...you know as he doesn't do good work at all? Hhmmm. FM

I think the blue images on Thingiverse are automatically computer generated from the .STL files. Cults3D is the most frustrating site I think I've ever been on lol You have to remember, most of the models on Thingiverse are amateur created for free. So, I can't fault anyone for less than stellar work. Now, the "Dufe" guy.. He used to be known as "BlackFoever" on CGtrader (or something like that). His pricing is always waay to high.. before he runs a "sale" he will up his prices by 30%. His work is not the best, like I said before, his scaling is usually not accurate, his model pieces don't fit together nicely. And when you try to explain what is wrong with his models, he tells you that you are the problem, and your printer isn't calibrated correctly. He just seems like a shady person to do business with.

Joe,
Jokingly thinking,.. ..sort of.... what if you took this guys .stl files, ....retool them to proper scale and fittings..-thereby creating "your own" .stl files for your use! "Don't worry Joe, I'll convert you to thinking like an American soon."
So what about "WoodenParrot"'s work? His looks to be an upgrade from "SchismDIY"'s little bit. Wait up,...do you still have that "model UT from Thingiverse" ...to photograph and display here??

FM It wasn't a matter of scale with the .STL files, they were just not created in a way that makes them easy to work with. LOL, I didn't know "Canadian" was a way of thinking, although technically I'm an Acadian, and we definately have our own way of doing things. lol I'd have to hunt down that UT from thingiverse, I've got so many different STL's spread all over the place I can hardly find anything nowadays.
