Joe, and to all,.. I'm here, known as "Fastmax". I'm a fan of TOS, classic, Star Trek. To anyone reading this, I've been bugging Joe about alot of stuff. Most recently about an ST tricorder prop. Found alot for him to work with, in of links. Thought I'd share them. Perhaps you could tell us whether the model is worth making or if there are do's and don't's to be aware of in constructing. Arranged by site groupings: FROM CG TRADER: Joe, "It's One Stop Shopping!" Just go on my link: www.cgtrader.com/3d-models?keywords=tricorderFROM THINGIVERSE: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1739621www.thingiverse.com/thing:1750113"Yes I made sure they all below and above, contained .stl files." FROM CULTS3D: A concept design by Rick Sternbach for TNG. cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/rick-sternbach-tng-concept-tricorders-1-and-2-star-trekOf Star Trek Discovery, ..I really love their landing party equipment design. cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/star-trek-discovery-tricoder-and-communicator-star-trek-printable-3d-model-stl-filesOf Star Trek: Picard,..just a mentioning. Not attracted personally. cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/tricoder-from-star-trek-picard-tvOf Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,.... Boxy, but ...... Some of this stuff is requiring real hardware to assemble too. cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/strange-new-worlds-tricorder-star-trekThis one is regarded as a concept design for SNW ..but looks like the one before it for the most part? Hhmmm, Maybe lesser parts to assemble??? cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/star-trek-discovery-concept-tricorderThe pages and images at Cult3D are very slow to load up upon my comp screen so I bypassed a lot I couldn't see, but found one of the type I was interested in from ST3 movie: cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/star-trek-tricorder-from-90s-trekart-filesxx, FM

Fastmax!
Welcome, right now it's just the two of us.. But hopefully over time the forum here will grow into a lively and great resource for enthusiasts!
So... The big question.. If you had to pick one tri-corder, which would it be?

Joe, Let's see, hmmm, ....they're all "delicious" looking. I'd say though ...the last link above us, "complaining about slow load up pages" (which it is still as I went back during this writing). That one seems to be only a 10 piece construction. Also allowing for "internal electronics" should a modeler decide. Let's see how well that one works for "you and your mechs". xx, FM

You weren't kidding about slow loading pages... They really need to fix that Anyways.. If that is the model you like, we can make it happen. As the creator "Limeybuilds" has a non commercial license on all his models, I can't buy the model and sell you a print. BUT.. If you buy the model and send it to me, then I can print it out for you without breaking any rules. (Once you buy the file, it's up to you what to do with it for your personal use) I will say that, all the stuff that "Limeybuilds" creates is top notch stuff, he is well known and respected in the Star Trek modelling community.

Joe, We went over this "ethical thing" before. Don't you have any "pirate" in you. LimeyBastard-uhh,... I mean, LimeyBuilds.... is selling US HIS REPLICATION of a Star Trek prop! Isn't your soul and brain screaming irony. He puts a non commercial license on his work? Who the heck does he expect that will want to buy his work? Every "Tom, Dick and Harry" will not have a 3D printer. Nor will get one because of his work either. "Don't let our capitalism be the downfall of your Northern economical society!!"....or of some such rallying cry to state. :/ Okay,..okay. I realize you're "Starfleet" through and through. I'll get it.... but at a future date. I'd like that W1K1 robot next, after. I believe it has internal wind up mechanism ...to walk as it did in tv show its from?? Not certain, so, probably just enough internals to hand motion the feet. "Ready up to tackle toy making!" cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/jason-of-star-command-wiki-w-1-k-1-robotBy the way if you're looking over the Tricorders still ..and see some other that has "modeling advantages" I'm not aware of ...do let me know beforehand.
